リトアニアのエルサレム

西暦の今年末に、次の本が出版されます。
余計なお世話でしょうけど、イスラエルやイスラーム諸国じゃあるまいし、何もキリスト教歴のこんなド年末に出さなくてもいいと思うのですが…。

以上の説明から分かるように、基本的には中級者、文法をある程度終わった人向けのようですが、とても興味があります。

私の力では今はまだ手も足も出ませんが、来年中には読めるようになる…といいな、と思っています。

ちなみにイディッシュ学において、方言や生活習慣といったものに基づいたサブグループは、基本的にリトアニア・ポーランド・ガリシアに三分類されるようですが、この場合の「リトアニア」とは歴史的リトアニアのいかなる領土とも一致するわけではありません。従って上の「Litvak」はヴィルナ周辺のアシュケナズィーのみならず、ミンスクあたりまでも含むことになります。イディッシュのリトアニア・ポーランド方言の境目はゲフィルテフィッシュの味つけ等とも一致するというのが面白いですね。

なお、著者は以下のような同じく興味深い本も出版しています。こういう本は、興味はあるんだけどそこまで専門じゃないし…という人が手に取りやすくてすごく助かりますね。

ちなみに「リトアニアのエルサレム」とは上にも書いてますが、ミトナグディームの代表である「ヴィルナのガオン」ことRabbi Eliya Shlomo Zalmanで有名なヴィルナ、ヴィリニュスのことです。ところで「〜のエルサレム」って多いですね。どれだけあるんでしょうか。バルカンのエルサレムとかエチオピアのエルサレムとかは聞いたことあります。

ヴィリニュスは去年の秋に、本物のエルサレムから旅行で少し訪れました。
リトアニアを歴史的なユダヤ教の中心地として紹介する日本人のブログ等はまだまだ少ないでしょうから、機会があればまた写真等で紹介できればと思います。
